Iperf Server

Iperf Host: nic-ks.greatplains.net

You can run iperf in either server mode or client mode. In server mode, data is sent to this machine from the indicated host and in client mode, this machine sends data back to the indicated host. The host field, if left blank, is the originating browser. You must run iperf pointed back to this server in the appropriate mode. To see the corresponding commands, select "show". To actually run the command, select the "run". More details are presented below.

The following table summarizes the various options available above. The host accessable through this site is nic-ks.greatplains.net, denoted below using the symbol SITE. The options above determine how iperf runs on SITE. In more detail,

Host The participating host. If blank, then the host running the browser will be used. In the description below, denoted by HOST.
Mode Either SERVER or CLIENT. In server mode, a stream is sent from HOST to SITE, and in CLIENT mode, from SITE to HOST. In SERVER mode, when the client stops sending data, the iperf will die. A timer also prevents the iperf for running forever.
Protocol Either TCP or UDP. Determines the meaning of some of the other options.
Port The port to use for the data transfers
Window The TCP window size to use. Only applies to the TCP protocol.
Time The length of time to transmit the stream. Only applies to SITE in client mode.
Interval Seconds between periodic bandwidth reports.
Bandwidth The bandwidth to send in bits/second. The applies only to client mode using protocol UDP.
IP Version The version of IP to use, either IPv4 or IPv6.
Show/Run Shows the commands, both on SITE and HOST, or runs the SITE command.
